The double visor feature
A tinted visor is installed on the helmet by default. The clear visor is in the packaging. Each uses the same quick release system mounted on each side. Remove the tinted shield using the pins, and replace it with the clear one using the same method (approximately 5 seconds). You don’t need any tools. you can even perform the task while wearing riding gloves.
I say this because there are several reasons why this is important. You’re going to leave in the morning wearing the tinted visor because you want to cut down glare from the sun on your ride home from work. Then a storm hits Two hours into your trip. Now you just switch to the clear visor and continue on your way. You didn’t have to stop anywhere. you didn’t have to mess around with trying to take off your sunglasses and get them under your helmet.
The tinted visor blocks glare during daylight hours. It isn’t going to be perfect. It’s not going to be high-end optics. It’s going to be functional. It’s simply tinted plastic. Good enough for city and highway driving when the lighting is good.
The clear visor is better for nighttime riding and cloudy days. It has enough scratch-resistance for typical use. Simply wash it with mild soap and a microfiber cloth. Don’t use abrasive cleaners or cloths to prevent permanent fogging of the lens.

Budget helmets - vents & airflow
There are four vents in total. Two intake vents located near the chin bar, Two exhaust vents located along the lower edge of the visor area. Basic but adequate design.
Air flows into the chin vents as you move forward. In city traffic (approximate speed range 30-40 mph) airflow is sufficient to keep sweat off your face. Commuting via car, the vents allow you to stay cool for shorter trips. At approximately 55-60 mph on highways, the vents provide some airflow but heat builds up behind the visor. Typical behavior for a budget helmet. While the vents will move air, they won’t create an air conditioning effect. Heat buildup will occur when you exceed speeds of 60 mph in warmer temperatures during long rides.
Pinlock anti-fog inserts are not provided. Buy a compatible kit and apply it to the clear visor if needed. Without Pinlock, the clear visor will fog when starting a damp ride, or taking a slower pace in Humid environments. While the chin vent directs some airflow towards the interior of the visor to help reduce fogging, it will still happen. If you frequently start riding in the twilight hours or live in an environment that receives significant rainfall/humidity during certain periods of the year, installing a Pinlock insert will pay for itself.
While the four vent arrangement will meet everyday commuting needs, it’s not intended for prolonged summertime highway riding when breathability becomes paramount. If cooling is your primary concern, look for helmets featuring top-of-the-head exhaust ducts. This helmet was made to prioritize a dual-visor bundle over complex ventilation systems. An intentional compromise.
Shell construction, Safety, & Certification
Shell construction consists of an ABS thermoplastic outer layer with an EPS inner liner. Budget-standard design. ABS provides excellent resistance to impact and dents. It paints well too. ABS lacks the structural integrity of either fiberglass or carbon fiber composites used in higher priced helmets. These materials will distribute/absorb impact energy differently than a budget helmet constructed with ABS.
DOT FMVSS-218 Certification is mandatory for motorcycles using public roads in the united states. DOT Certification occurs through self-Certification.
